How much does a media wall cost?
Our fitted packages are one clear price: up to a 2.2m cabinet with a 40″ fire is £3,200, up to 2.4m with a 50″ fire £3,400, and up to 2.7m with a 60″ fire £3,600 — designed, handmade and fitted. Doors-only walls (no fire) are £300 less, and a floating unit with a lit TV panel starts at £2,400. There’s no VAT added on top.
Are media walls worth it, or will they date?
A cheap flatpack unit screwed to the wall dates fast. A made-to-measure wall built from premium Egger board, grain-matched and fitted properly, reads as part of the house — designed around your room and your TV, it's the version that still looks right in five years.
What's it actually made from — is it solid?
Every wall is built from premium Egger 18mm furniture board, cut and edged by hand in our Linwood workshop — not thin MDF or a flatpack kit. It's a proper piece of furniture fixed to your wall, in your choice of 40+ decors.
Do I need a stud wall built first?
Usually not — we fix to your existing wall in most homes. Where a wall is uneven, has a deep chimney breast, or you want the whole thing built out flush, we build the stud work as part of the job (from £150), so you deal with one team rather than three.
Can it go on a chimney breast?
Yes — chimney breasts are one of the most common walls we work with. Because every wall is handmade to measure, we design around the breast and alcoves rather than fighting them, and can build the wall out to a full chimney feature if you prefer.
Will the fire's heat damage my TV?
No — it's the number-one worry we hear, and it's exactly why we design the fire and the TV as one wall. We set the correct clearance and ventilation so heat vents forward, away from the screen, and the flame effect also runs with the heat off if you just want the look.
Does the electric fire actually heat the room?
Yes. Our media wall fires give out real heat — enough to take the chill off a living room — and you can run the flames on their own with the heat switched off in summer.
Who does the electrics — do I need my own electrician?
We do it all. Our own electrical team handles the sockets and fire supply, and our TV and satellite team moves every wire — aerial, satellite and internet, including fibre. You never have to find or book your own trades, and no wires are left on show.
How big a TV can I have, and will it be too high?
Our backpanel takes up to a 100-inch TV. Height is what people get wrong on DIY builds — we set the screen at a comfortable seated eye line for your room at the design visit, so you're not craning your neck at a telly mounted too high.
How long does it take to fit?
Most walls are fitted in a single day. We design and make everything in the workshop first, so installation day is about fitting and finishing cleanly in your home, not building from scratch against your living-room wall.
Can I keep my soundbar, console and Sky box?
Yes — we design in a slot for your soundbar, hidden sockets behind the TV, and concealed space for a Sky box, console or amp, with the wires routed out of sight. Tell us your kit at the design visit and we build around it.
What happens if I move house — does it damage the wall?
It's a fixed installation, like a fitted kitchen, so it stays with the house and adds to the room for buyers. If it's ever taken off, the wall is made good — nothing is cut into the structure, so there's no structural damage.
Do you make good and leave it clean?
Yes. We move the wires, fit the wall, fill and finish, and take the mess away — you're left with a finished feature wall, not a fortnight of dust and a list of other trades to chase.
