Bespoke media walls, Falkirk

Falkirk sits pretty much bang in the middle of where we work. We plan the wall with you at your own place, build it to the millimetre at the Linwood workshop, and our own electrician and TV man see to every wire on the day it goes in. Grangemouth, Larbert, Bo'ness, it's all a short hop for us.

Across the Falkirk area

Right across the Falkirk area

Falkirk's an easy patch for us, sitting right on our road east. We work all over the district, through Grangemouth, Larbert and Stenhousemuir, out to Polmont and Bo'ness, and round the villages by Bonnybridge and Denny. Each wall gets measured in the room and built to suit it.

Around Falkirk the older town-centre streets are local buff sandstone, Victorian terraces and tenements with a chimney breast on the main wall and the front room built round it. Larbert, Polmont and the Braes villages add newer estates and apartments, and Bo'ness runs from old fisher cottages down to modern waterfront flats. The period rooms get a wall built into the breast and alcoves, the newer open-plan ones get a full flat-wall build.

Falkirk questions

The usual questions

How much does a media wall cost in Falkirk?
The prices are the same right across the Falkirk area. A 2.2m cabinet with a 40in fire is £3,200, a 2.4m with a 50in fire is £3,400, and a 2.7m with a 60in fire is £3,600, design and build and fit all in. Doors instead of the fire saves £300, and a floating unit with a lit TV panel starts at £2,400.
Do you really cover Falkirk?
We do. We're based in Paisley with the workshop at Linwood, and we design, build and fit all over the Falkirk area. Every sample comes with us when we visit to plan the wall.
How big a TV can I have, and will it be too high?
The backpanel takes a TV up to 100 inch. Height is the thing people get wrong doing it themselves. We set the screen at a comfortable seated eye line for your room when we design it, so you're not sat craning your neck at a telly hung too high.
Can I keep my soundbar, console and Sky box?
You can. We leave a slot for the soundbar, sockets behind the screen, and a hidden spot for a Sky box, console or amp with the leads run out of sight. Tell us what you're keeping when we visit and we build round it.
Are media walls worth it, or will they date?
A cheap unit bolted to the wall dates in no time. One made to measure from Egger board, grains lined up and properly fitted, reads as part of the house. Since it's built round your room and your telly, it still looks right years later.
Do I need a stud wall built first?
Usually not. We fix straight to the wall you've got in most homes. If it's uneven, there's a deep chimney breast, or you want it all brought out flush, we handle the stud work as part of the job, from £150, so it's one team rather than three.
Do you fit media walls in Grangemouth, Bo'ness and Larbert too?
Yes, all of them, and the villages round Falkirk like Denny, Bonnybridge and Polmont. It's all one patch to us. Whether it's an older stone terrace with a chimney breast or a newer open-plan lounge, we come out with the samples, measure the room and build the wall to fit what you've got.

More on the fire, the wiring and what moving house means is on our media wall questions guide.
