Measured up, made to your wall

A new-build on an estate or an old cottage on the coast, it makes no odds. Made to measure means the wall fits the space you've got, not some size that came off a warehouse shelf.

  • Three metres of acoustic slat, wide or fine
  • Backpanel for a telly up to 100 inch, lit with LED
  • More than 40 Egger boards, grains matched up
  • Sockets tucked out of sight, one behind the screen
  • Our own electrician and TV man on the wiring, fibre too
  • Display cabinets on offer, 300mm to 1800mm, one side or both
Across Fife

The whole of Fife

Over the Forth bridges and we're into Fife, from Dunfermline and the Dalgety Bay commuter belt through Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes to the East Neuk. Coastal cottage or new-build semi, every wall is built to measure for its own room and fitted by our own trades.

Fife's housing is a real spread. The East Neuk villages, Anstruther, Crail and Pittenweem, have the old crow-stepped cottages with pantile roofs, thick stone walls and smaller, lower rooms, so a wall there works round the existing breast and alcoves. Glenrothes, built as a new town, and the commuter estates round Dunfermline are the opposite, open-plan and modern with one flat wall to work with. We build for both, cottage or new-build.

Fife questions

Questions we hear

How much does a media wall cost in Fife?
Prices are the same the length of Fife. It's £3,200 for a 2.2m cabinet with a 40in fire, £3,400 for 2.4m with a 50in fire, and £3,600 for 2.7m with a 60in fire, design, build and fit included. Doors rather than a fire is £300 less, and a floating unit with a lit TV panel starts at £2,400.
Do you really cover Fife?
Aye. We're in Paisley with the workshop at Linwood, and we design, build and fit the whole way across Fife. The samples come over the bridge with us when we visit.
What's it made from, and is it solid?
It's 18mm Egger furniture board, cut and edged by hand at Linwood. Not thin MDF, not a flatpack kit. Once it's on your wall it's a solid bit of furniture, in any of the 40-plus decors we do.
Do you make good and leave it clean?
We do. We shift the wires, fit the wall, fill and finish it, and take the mess away with us. You're left with a finished feature wall, not a fortnight of dust and a list of other trades to chase.
Does the electric fire actually heat the room?
It does. The fires we fit put out real heat, enough to take the chill off a living room, and in summer you can run just the flames with the heat off.
Can it go on a chimney breast?
It can. Chimney breasts are among the most common walls we do. Since it's all made to measure, we work around the breast and the alcoves rather than fighting them, and we can build it right out into a chimney feature if you'd prefer.
Our East Neuk cottage has small rooms and thick walls, can you still fit one?
Yes, we just design it to the room. The older cottages round the East Neuk tend to have lower ceilings, a solid chimney breast and less width to play with, so we make the wall to those exact measurements rather than a standard size, and keep it in proportion so it doesn't swamp the room. Fixing into thick stone is no problem for our fitter.

We cover the fire, the wiring and moving house in more depth on our media wall questions guide.
